Es wird hauptsächlich als Lichtstabilisator für Kunststoffe verwendet, der das Plexiglas und den Stoff wirksam schützen, verhindern kann, dass die Daten durch Beleuchtung verdorben werden, und wird auch als Zwischenprodukt für die Synthese anderer ultravioletter Absorptionsmittel verwendet.
